2010 GOP Senate Candidate Forum (April 1st)

Who will be Washington’s next Republican Senator? The King County Young Republicans are hosting what will be the biggest candidate forum in the state. In the wake of Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts, every Senate race in the country is now up for grabs. Which candidate will you choose to lead the fight in the August 17 primary?

When: Thursday, April 1st, 2010 6:45pm [rsvp]

Upcoming Annual Events: YR Christmas Party & Leavenworth Trip

Join the King County Young Republicans for a Christmas Party this December 16th! Let’s spend some time together reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the next. Please bring your favourite dish, finger food or beverage to share and a fun, inexpensive wrapped gift for our annual white elephant gift exchange ($10 value max please). As always, you are more than welcome to bring a friend. Please also bring nonperishable goods, we will collect it and donate it the Rainier Valley Food Bank which was recently burglarized. The party is from 7pm to 10pm at:

For YR Women: Festive Pistol Pumpkin Carving

Join the Young Conservative Babes of King County for a costume party and a pistol pumpkin carving contest!  Ladies dressed in costume from 7pm-9pm will receive a FREE paper pumpkin shooting target to bullet “carve” at Wade’s Gun Range.

The nice staff at Wade’s will choose the best pistol carved pumpkin. The winner will receive an American flag*, and she will be crowned “Miss 2nd Amendment” of the evening by the Conservative Babes!  In addition to the pumpkin carving, Wade’s also has a selection of spooky Zombie targets to choose from for a very fun way to celebrate the Halloween holiday.

Tuesday is Ladies night at the range with 1/2 price lane fee and free gun rentals (you can also bring your gun and ammo if you want). If you want to rent a Free gun, you have to use Wades ammo. Wades takes credit/debit cards, but it will make things easier if you bring a little cash too (a shared lane is only $7.50 per person ).

Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze at Craven Farm

Craven Farm Pumpkin Patch has been a family tradition for 27 years. Come join the traditions of fall in a charming country atmosphere.

The farm is free to wander about, and open from 9:30am to dark, but the KCYRs will be there October 24th from 1pm-4pmPlease RSVP at Meetup.

Things to do at the farm:
* Hand pick your pumpkin from 20 acres of pumpkins of all sizes
* Explore the 15-acre corn maze ($5.50)
* Visit baby farm animals
* Savor refreshments from the snack bar
* Try the pumpkin slinger (weekends only) (3 for $1)
* Take the Weekday Storytime Tour (Monday through Friday starting October 15)
* Tractor-drawn hay rides (weekends, 11am - 4pm) weather permitting ($3.50)
* Kettle corn
* Enjoy delicious coffee and hot, fresh donuts at the espresso bar
* Make a scarecrow to take home ($21.95)
* Stroll our Harvest Market, featuring gift shops and all kinds of fall produce including squash, apples, sweet corn, mums, kale, Indian corn, hay bales, decorative gourds and delicious, fresh cider, local honey, farm jams.ATM available, Pets not allowed
